Good Friday: A Day of Prayer and Fasting

The whole world is in the throes of a pandemic that is spreading death, economic turmoil, unemployment, isolation, and panic. In such desperate times, the people of God should humble themselves and pray to almighty God for his grace, mercy, and love to heal us and restore us from this crushing burden of disease.

All gospel partners and friends of Faith Church are invited to set aside Good Friday, April 10, as a Day of Prayer and Fasting. Our entire network of churches (the Evangelical Presbyterian Church) and other like-minded groups (the Presbyterian Church in America and the Anglican Church of North America) plan to participate in this historic day, with the hope of seeing over half a million Christians joining our hearts in prayer.

Below you will find three resources to help you prepare for the Day of Prayer and Fasting:

  1. Fasting: This message by Pastor Dillon was part of last year’s Habits of Faith series. It will help you better understand the discipline of fasting and occasions for fasting.

  2. A Short, Practical Guide to Prayer and Fasting: This brief article will help you plan your family’s involvement in the Day of Prayer and Fasting.

  3. Specific Prayer Requests: This list of twenty-one prayer requests will help you structure your prayers on April 10.
