Intro to Woodworking

Matt Burmood and Todd Runkle

Matt was born in Colorado Springs, Co and as a toddler moved to Seminole, FL. At three years old, he began attending Faith Church and grew up in the Seminole area. In his early years, he enjoyed football, skimming at the beach, skateboarding, building bicycles, and things with wood like forts and skateboard ramps. While in college, Matt earned his degree in emergency medicine, and enjoyed water sports in his free time.

As an adult, he has worked as a firefighter paramedic and is currently a Lieutenant for Clearwater Fire Department. During this time, he has enjoyed building motorcycles and remodeling five homes with his dad. His numerous remodeling of homes has enhanced his enjoyment for carpentry.

Matt is married to Shana Burmood. They have been for over 17 years and have a son, Sam, and a Golden Retriever, Moose. Their family currently attend and are Gospel Partners (members) of Faith Church.

Originally from the panhandle of Florida, Todd has had a lifelong passion for designing and building. This stems from the love his father and grandfather had for woodworking, hand milling lumber from felled trees. His work spans a broad spectrum, covering everything from creating fine furniture to custom home remodeling, from crafting toys and gifts to even building the boxes for his beehives! With over 40 years of experience developing his skills and craftsmanship, Todd has enjoyed woodworking using every tool in the workshop!

Todd has served as an Elder at Faith Church for many years. He also serves as a Worship Assistant, is a co-leader of the Refuge Youth Group working with primarily with the Middle Schoolers, leads the Good Dudes, Good Food Men’s Breakfast Bible Study group, and serves with the Praise Team in different capacities. Most of all, Todd loves to share the talents and skills God has gifted him to His glory.

Todd is married to Amy. They have 2 daughters Kyra and Ashlyn and are long-time Gospel Partners (members) of Faith Church.
